Car Overturns in Rajasthan CM's Convoy, Injuring Five Police Officers

A car in Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma’s convoy overturned on Wednesday at the Akshaya Patra intersection in Jagatpura, Jaipur, leaving five police officers injured.

The accident occurred as the convoy was en route to the inauguration of the Sohan Singh Smriti Skill Development Centre, organised by Laghu Udyog Bharati. The convoy had departed from the CM's residence at 3 p.m.

Following the incident, CM Sharma personally assisted in transporting the injured officers to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, from where they were later referred to Jeevan Rekha Hospital. Among the injured is Assistant Sub-Inspector Surendra Singh, while the identities of the other officers have not yet been disclosed.

Local eyewitnesses reported that a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction collided with a car in the convoy, which was moving at over 100 km per hour. One officer is in critical condition and has been shifted to the ICU.

Jaipur’s District Collector Jitendra Soni and Police Commissioner Beju George visited the injured officers in the hospital, and CM Sharma himself paid a visit to ensure their well-being.

The Chief Minister's act of stepping out of his car and personally aiding the injured has been widely appreciated by citizens across the state.

Meanwhile, the accident occurred amidst heightened activity in Jaipur due to the ongoing Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, which has been taking place since December 9 at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre near Jagatpura Circle.

Authorities are investigating the accident, and officials have assured quality healthcare for the injured personnel.
