MTV Roadies is back, and with it, a renewed sense of excitement as Rannvijay Singha returns to lead the show. This time, MTV Roadies Double Cross has brought along a fresh batch of mentors including Neha Dhupia, Rhea Chakraborty, Prince Narula, and the new entrant, Elvish Yadav. The format remains familiar: mentors fight to pick contestants for their teams in auditions, but there's a noticeable shift in the vibe of the show.

While the first episode did introduce some fit and entertaining contestants, there were some glaring issues that raised concerns about the level of knowledge among the youth. Once again, we were greeted with contestants who couldn’t answer basic questions like, "Who is the first President of India?" or "What is the capital of Karnataka?" Surprisingly, Rannvijay took the opportunity to call them out, a rare move in recent seasons.

While it’s understandable that Roadies is an entertainment show and not an educational platform, such fundamental knowledge about one’s country should be a given. Still, the episode managed to keep things entertaining as the mentors—Neha Dhupia, Rhea Chakraborty, Elvish Yadav, and Prince Narula—battled it out to select the best contestants. Neha showed her competitive edge right from the start, making it clear that she intends to win this season, though Rhea Chakraborty might be giving her tough competition.

This season, however, feels quite different from the early days when Rannvijay and Ayushmann Khurrana were among the contestants. The energy and charm that once defined Roadies seems to have dimmed a little. Despite that, the show’s loyal audience is bound to enjoy it, especially with Rannvijay back in action. The first episode doesn’t provide anything groundbreaking, but for die-hard Roadies fans, it’s still a familiar thrill.

In summary, the first episode sets the stage for a typical Roadies season, packed with drama, humor, and fitness. It may not be a revolution in reality TV, but it’s certainly a start to another season that will entertain its target audience. Nothing more, nothing less!
