"Project Dolphin" will help in removing plastic from drinking water sources

BERHAMPUR, 4/1 (Abhijit Kar): National Youth Climate Consortium Yuwah UNICEF, in association with Satwik Soul Foundation, Youth for Water Plus, organized the Youth Climate Forum- Odisha 2025, a state-level youth conference, at the Roland Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences College located at Gopalpur Junction on Saturday afternoon. The event, chaired by Young Climate Champion Ms. Sibani Padhi, was graced by the chief guest, Mayor of Berhampur Smt. Sanghamitra Dalai, while the guests of honour included Green Man of Odisha Mr. Sudhir Raut, Founder of Roland Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences Smt. J. Shruti, Principal Dr. B. Ravi Kumar, former Kendriya Vidyalaya teacher and environmentalist Ms. Manjubala Das, Oxford Public School teacher, poet and social worker Smt. Sasmita Mishra.

The program was organized by Bharat Gaurav Das, District Coordinator of Satwik Soul Foundation. Several young students from Roland Institute of Pharmacy, Khallikote Unitary University and volunteers of Satwik Soul Foundation participated in the program. On this occasion, the main objective of the program was to manage waste, and the coordinator, Shri Bharat Gaurav Das, gave a preliminary information. Similarly, a new project "Project Dolphin" was inaugurated by Sibani Padhi and Bhuna Srihari. While it was made from discarded equipment, this machine will detect plastic in the water and take its photo with the help of a camera to identify the plastic. Later, Bharat Gaurav Das presented his "Sea Horse" machine, which removes plastic from drinking water. After seeing all these programs, Mayor Sanghammitra Dalai promised that the Berhampur Municipal Corporation would support this initiative and said that these two machines would be used for cleaning the ponds in Berhampur city. On this occasion, all the students of the school and many volunteers cooperated in the management.
