Tripti Dimri Loses Lead Role in 'Aashiqui 3'

Disheartening news for Bollywood actress Tripti Dimri and her fans as she has been dropped from the much-anticipated film Aashiqui 3.

Exit from the Iconic Franchise

Last year, Tripti Dimri's association with Aashiqui 3 had generated excitement among fans. Following the success of the first two instalments of the Aashiqui franchise — Aashiqui (1990), featuring Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal, and Aashiqui 2 (2013), starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor — the third instalment was eagerly awaited. Initially, both Kartik Aaryan and Tripti Dimri were announced as the lead pair. However, Dimri has now been removed from the project, leaving her fans disappointed.

Why Was Tripti Dimri Replaced?

According to sources close to the production team, the filmmakers sought an actress with a fresh and innocent image that aligns with the core of the Aashiqui franchise. A source stated:

"For the Aashiqui 3 actress, innocence is paramount; it’s the character’s defining trait. The team felt that Tripti Dimri’s recent roles have given her a level of exposure that doesn’t suit the kind of heroine required for this film."

Adding to the speculation, some believe Dimri's involvement in a recent animal rights controversy may have influenced the decision. The incident reportedly created negative publicity, which might have played a role in the filmmakers' choice to part ways with her.

Dimri’s Recent Career

The start of the year has been challenging for Tripti Dimri. Her last two films, Bad News and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, failed to perform well at the box office. While Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 brought some respite, its ensemble cast overshadowed individual performances. These underwhelming results might have also contributed to the decision to drop her from Aashiqui 3.

Impact on 'Aashiqui 3'

Tripti Dimri's departure has left the Aashiqui 3 team in search of a new leading lady, leading to delays in the film's production. Fans now eagerly await updates on who will take her place alongside Kartik Aaryan in this beloved franchise.
