Urmila Matondkar Reveals Her Favorite Asha Bhosle Song

Actress Urmila Matondkar recently shared her love for Asha Bhosle's iconic song "Yeh Mera Dil Yaar Ka Diwana" from the 1978 film Don.

Taking to Instagram, Urmila posted a series of glamorous pictures in a stunning black rhinestone-embellished, body-fitted dress. Her sleek blow-dried hair and minimal makeup enhanced her elegant look. Striking graceful poses that highlighted her svelte figure, she wrote, “Love this song and somehow this pose reminded me of it. Bollywood Legends Timeless Classy Bold n Beautiful.”

The original Don, a 1978 action-thriller directed by Chandra Barot with a story by Salim–Javed, featured Amitabh Bachchan in dual roles alongside Zeenat Aman, Pran, and other celebrated actors.

Reflecting on 2024

As the year ended, Urmila bid farewell to 2024 with a heartfelt post. Sharing a couple of beautiful photos, she wrote, “Goodbye 2024… what a ride you have been!! I’m only grateful for everything that you brought with you. I accept, with all humility, everything you gave me with a smile and move forward.” Adding a playful touch, she teased her fans, asking them to guess her current location: “By the way, can you all guess where I am? Let me know your guess!!”

Personal Life Update

Urmila has also been in the spotlight recently for personal reasons. Reports suggest that the actress filed for divorce from her husband, Mohsin Akhtar Mir, after eight years of marriage. The divorce petition was reportedly submitted in Bandra, Mumbai, in September 2024, and sources indicate the separation was not mutual.

Career Highlights

Urmila’s career began in 1977 with her debut as a child artist in Karm. She gained fame with films like Rangeela, Narsimha, Judaai, Satya, Jungle, Antham, Kaun?, Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya, Bhoot, Ek Hasina Thi, and Pinjar. Her last major role was in the 2014 Marathi film Ajoba, where she portrayed Purva Rao. She also made a special appearance in the 2018 black comedy-drama Blackmail.
