Eight killed as massive fire breaks out in Rajkot’s TRP game zone, several children trapped

Rajkot: Eight people were killed as a major fire broke out in the TRP game zone in Rajkot on Saturday. Many children are still trapped inside the burning game zone.

The fire started in the game zone, which was operating under a tin shed. The shed collapsed as the fire intensified, complicating rescue efforts. After the fire, a cloud of smoke was seen for about a kilometer.

Difficulties in extinguishing fire

Upon receiving the information, fire brigade vehicles rushed to the spot, but strong winds and the structure’s collapse made it difficult to control the blaze.

The incident occurred during the holiday season, and the game zone was crowded with children enjoying their vacation. Videos from the scene show the entire area engulfed in flames, with smoke visible from a kilometer away.

Local residents said that the game zone is a popular spot for children, especially during school holidays. The fire brigade is conducting an operation to rescue those trapped and to extinguish the fire. Fire brigade officer IV Kher said that the cause of the fire is still unknown, and no information has been received about missing people yet.

Investigation underway

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire and have ordered action against any negligent parties. The local police and administration are actively gathering information to understand what led to this tragic incident.

This is the second such incident after a similar fire at Ahmedabad’s TRP game zone. The Rajkot game zone has been completely destroyed by the fire.
