World Nature Conservation Day Celebrated by Sabuja Bahini

Brahmapur, 28/7 (Abhijit Kar): “Seeds for Forests” Program was organized on the occasion of “World Nature Conservation Day” by Berhampur Sabuja Bahini in Baniyamari Reserve Forest under Kukudakhandi block. In this, the seeds of different varieties of fruits like mango, pans, lentil, almond, jamkoli, khajuri were planted in the land hills in the forest. In addition, the organization has been promoting the “Seeds for Forest” program to various educational institutions, women’s organizations and inviting them to donate the seeds they have in their homes to the organization. The collected seeds have been planted by Brahampur Sabuja Bahini in the past few days in Jingal Chandaniya Hills, Ramguda Reserve Forests of Chhatrapur Ramchandi. In this context, President of Berhampur Sabuja Bahini, Sibaram Panigarahi said, “This will increase the forest and the animals living in the forest will stay in the forest instead of going to the village and city for food. Besides, the organization said that this is the main improvement of the “Seeds for the Forest” Program. Among others, Vice-President M. Dillip Kumar, Secretary A. Prakash, Co-secretary P.Nod, Prasanna Swain, Praveen Nayak, Balaji Behera along with a young journalist and environmentalist, social activist and snake controler Swadhin Kumar Sahu were prominent in the event.
