LSG Day Celebration in Gopalpur Notified Area Council

Gopalpur, 31/8 (Abhijit Kar): Self-Government Day was celebrated in a grand ceremony by the Gopalpur Notified Area Council. On this occasion, the triangle was hoisted in the office premises. Later, fruits were distributed to the inmates at nearby Biju Patnaik’s statue, Jagriti Seva Sadan, Shraddha Sanjibani Kendra, Jara Basan, as per previous information. Similarly, a felicitate meeting was held in the evening at New Bus Stand under the patronage of NAC Chairman A. Janki Ram. Vice Chairman B. Uma, Electrical Engineer Suresh Satapathy, all the Councilors, Executive Officer Manas Ranjan Mallik participated in it as guests. In this context, the guests said in their own speech that since Gopalpur is a tourist place, it should be kept clean.

He urged the general public to pay regular holding tax, throw their household waste in NAC-run garbage bins and use dustbins. On this occasion, winners of various competitions organized by NAC were awarded. Similarly, the best ex-councillors, women’s associations, senior citizens, sanitation workers, best NAC workers were specially honored with Certificate of appreciation. Garments were distributed to health workers, senior citizens were felicitated and Gopalpur College student Sithun Gantayat won the best prize for speech, essay writing, general knowledge competition, while NAC employee Rajendra Jena got medal in the disabled competition. The Program was conducted by Jagannath Samal, Pravati Sasamal Major, and cultural programs were presented by local artistes.
