• Chief Minister inaugurated Gopalpur Beach Festival and Palishree Mela

Berhampur/Gopalpur, 25/1 (Abhijit Kar): The Gopalpur Beach Festival and Palishree Mela, organized by Ganjam District Administration under the leadership of District Collector Dibya Jyoti Parida, has been inaugurated on Thursday evening. State Planning Board Committee Member Ramesh Chandra Chow Patnaik, Hon’ble Berhampur MP Chandra Shekhar Sahu, Berhampur MLA and District Planning Committee Chairman Bikram Kumar Panda, Chhatrapur MLA Subas Behera, District Council Chairperson Anjali Swain, Vice Chairman Rajeshwari Dora, Berhampur Mayor Sanghmitra Dalai, were the chief guests, Gopalpur NAC Chairman A. Janki Ram, Rangeilunda Block Chairperson CH Usha Rani, Berhampur SP Sarvana Vivek M, District Council CDO V. Kirti Vasan, Sub District Collector Ashutosh Kulkarni, BeMC Commissioner J. Sonal, IAS Sameer Jena, DFO Sunny Khokar were the chief guests of honour. While the guests first joined the beach festival after inaugurating the Palishree fair, Hon’ble Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik participated in the festival through Video conference and inaugurated the festival. In this context, the District Magistrate Mr. Parida addressed the general public and called for beautification of the festival and freeing of plastic, requesting to make the festival successful with peace and order.

Similarly, SP Mr. Vivek told the general public in his speech, “requested the police personnel who worked to protect them from morning to midnight during the festival, which will be held for four days, to provide all possible cooperation till the end of the festival.” Later, Hon’ble MLA Mr. Panda thanked the Hon’ble Chief Minister for organizing the festival and said in his speech, “The Hon’ble Chief Minister has fulfilled your expectations of the festival today, and as much as you are excited for the heroines in the reel, you are also known as the real heroes and heroines. He also requested the elected representatives to encourage development. And in the end, MP Shri. Sahu thanked the organizers and all the departmental officers starting from the District Collector. While District Collector Mr. Parida presided over the festival meeting, PD DRDA Mr. Kirti Vasan gave vote of thanks at the end of the meeting.

During the afternoon of the festival, ensemble music performance by various music academies, Jodi Shankh of Tangnapalli, Odishi dance, traditional dance, modern dance, fashion show, Paila Akhada dance of Khurda district, Dhem Sha Dance of Koraput district, Goti Pua dance of Bhubaneswar were performed. And the highlight of the day was the musical performance by “Sanam Band” and her associates Team, which was much entertained by the audience. Similarly, on the first day too, the Palishree fair saw a great turnout and a large number of food stalls with various handicrafts made by SHG women. However, the Ganjam district administration and Berhampur police are studying all the arrangements for this festival, which will continue till the 28th. On the first day, to tighten the security system, 10 platoons of police have been deployed, CCTV and control room have been installed, and special arrangements have been made for parking, said SP Sarvana Vivek M.
