Discussion meeting on the management of Gopalpur Beach festival
• There will be no VIP and VVIP pass system, all Public Representative will be invited
Berhampur, 22/1 (Abhijit Kar): A discussion meeting was held on Monday with journalists and media representatives of Berhampur city for the smooth management and promotion of Gopalpur Festival under the chairmanship of Corporation Commissioner J. Sonal in the conference room of the Municipal Corporation office. PD DRDA V.Kirti Vasan, Sub District Magistrate Berhampur Ashutosh Kulkarni and District Information Public Relations Officer Rabi Narayan Behera were prominently present in this four-day festival to be held from January 25 to 28 at Gopalpur Belavhumi with various programs including cleanliness, traffic, security, assistance. There will be a control room system. Senior officials requested the district administration to make it number one across the country with special emphasis on Palishree Mela and SHG women. In addition, about 300 stalls have been arranged for this festival, while 150 stalls in other districts and 50 stalls in other states, more than 100 stalls will be available in Ganjam district, out of which there will be 30 food stalls, said PD DRDA.
Similarly Sub District Collector Mr. Kulakarni informed that this year, as in the previous years, there will be no provision of VIP and VVIP passes by the district administration, only the four pillars of the constitution and the media and elected representatives will have a special arrangement. Therefore, it is informed that when the chairs are arranged for the spectators who will come to the festival, those who come first can sit there. It has been informed that all the elected representatives of Ganjam district and Berhampur city will be invited and participate in this program. However, last year, while all the ministers, MPs, MLAs and Speakers of the Ganjam district were invited to the event, But local Gopalpur Constituency MLA Pradeep Kumar Panigarahi and Sankhemundi Constituency MLA Ramesh Chandra Jena were not invited. There were disputes and protests.
However, it has been said that it will not happen this year, besides, more emphasis will be placed on the traffic safety to come and go like the previous year, and they will discuss with the officials of various departments to provide parking and other facilities. According to the preliminary sources, Sanam band on 25th, Bollywood Singer Sachet and Parampara on 26th, Shilpa Rao on 27th and Mithun Sharma and his team on 28th will entertain in this festival which will be held for four days. However, while senior officers from the district administration said that strict arrangements will be made by the police to control all kinds of unpleasant situations during this festival, Brahampur SP was not present in this meeting. District Information Public Relations Officer Rabi Narayan Behera coordinated the meeting and expressed his thanks.
