Fact-finding team to investigate alcohol-related deaths

Brahampur/Chikitti, 21.8 (Abhijit Kar): In a press conference held at Biju Janata Dal headquarters Shankh Bhawan today, former minister and senior media coordinator Mr. Pratap Jena said, “It has been 100 days since the BJP government came to power. 2 people have died in Chikiti and many people are fighting for their lives. The Biju Janata Dal has raised questions in the Assembly today regarding this incident. Biju Janata Janata Dal President Mr. Naveen Patnaik has formed a fact-finding team under the leadership of former minister Mr. Niranjan Pujari to investigate the alcohol-related death incident. Along with Mr. Pujari, former Minister Mrs. Usha Devi, former MLA Dr. Ramesh Chandra Chowpattanaik and Bikram Kumar Panda are prominent in this team. However, tomorrow morning, this team will go to the scene and study the situation and will give the details of the drunken death incident to President Mr. Naveen Patnaik. Bikram Kumar Panda, a former MLA from Brahampur, has expressed his opinion that “I am saddened to know that 2 people have lost their lives due to poisoned liquor in Chikiti. Today, party MLA Niranjan Pujari along with senior leaders of Ganjam District Biju Janata Party extended their condolences to the families of the victims. He also went to Brahampur Hospital and assessed the condition of the people being treated there. This incident is very heart-wrenching, I request the Odisha government to take action against those who are responsible for this incident.
