Odisha: Body Of Businessman Who Jumped Into Brahmani River Near Rourkela Fished Out
Bhubaneswar: The body of a businessman, who had jumped into Brahmani river near Odisha’s Rourkela city on September 15, was fished out at Bonai today. The deceased has been identified as Bijay Gupta of Basanti Colony area in Rourkela city.
Bijay had jumped into Brahmani river from a bridge at Panposh near the Steel City in the evening hours of September 15 (Friday). His scooter and mobile phone were found on the bridge, sources said. On being informed, Raghunathpalli police along with the Fire Brigade personnel launched a rescue operation. However, they failed to trace the businessman from the river, sources said. Bijay’s body was spotted floating near a bridge at Bonai today afternoon. Later, the Fire Brigade personnel reached the spot and fished out the body, sources added.
