Sobhita Dhulipala Pays Banjara-Themed Tribute to Her Backpacking Days in Pre-Wedding Celebration

Newlywed actress Sobhita Dhulipala recently shared a heartfelt Banjara-themed tribute to her "backpacking days", celebrating the experiences that shaped her identity.

On Tuesday, Sobhita took to social media to share a series of captivating photos from one of her pre-wedding rituals. The actress exuded elegance in an exquisite Sabyasachi lehenga, staying true to her bohemian spirit.

Her handcrafted bagru multi-panel "chotu lehenga", inspired by Sabyasachi’s archives, featured antique zardozi embroidery and hand-painted mirror borders. She paired it with a handwoven cotton dupatta and the designer’s classic “Kanthi” blouse.

Reflecting on her tribute, Sobhita wrote,
"Pictures from a blurry night in Vizag (We called it Young People’s Party / YPP. Lol). A Banjara-themed homage to my backpacking days that have shaped the very core of who I am. Archival Sabya for the bohemian soul. I felt seen. Beheld."

Sabyasachi also shared the photos, detailing Sobhita’s stunning ensemble. He highlighted the look, describing it as accentuated with a traditional parandi, The East of Bengal Chandbalis crafted in 22k gold from Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery, and embellished handcrafted bellies from Sabyasachi Accessories.

For the wedding ceremony itself, Sobhita opted for a traditional saree paired with elegant jewelry, while the groom, Naga Chaitanya, donned a traditional pancha (dhoti drape).

The couple tied the knot on December 4 in a beautiful ceremony at Annapurna Studios, surrounded by close family and loved ones. The venue holds deep sentimental value for Naga Chaitanya, as it was established in 1976 by his legendary grandfather, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, symbolizing his family’s cinematic legacy.

Naga’s father, actor Nagarjuna, was the first to share official photos of the couple. In an emotional note, he wrote:
"Watching Sobhita and Chay begin this beautiful chapter together has been a special and emotional moment for me. Congratulations to my beloved Chay, and welcome to the family dear Sobhita—you’ve already brought so much happiness into our lives."

The wedding celebrations blended tradition, bohemian themes, and family heritage, marking the start of a new chapter for the beloved couple.
