7 dead, 20 injured as bus on way to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine meets with accident on national highway

Ambala: Seven persons died and twenty others were injured in a bus accident that occurred on the Ambala-Delhi-Jammu National Highway on Friday morning. The bus was taking pilgrims to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, the police said.

All deceased were from same family

As per the police, all seven persons, who lost their lives, were from the same family. All the injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. The authorities have started the probe in the accident, which occurred near Mohra village. The place is close to Ambala Cantt. The bus was carrying approximately 30 people from Uttar Pradesh to shrine. According to survivors, they were sleeping in side the bus when it was hit by a truck.

Last month, a total of six children lost their lives and more than 20 others injured after a private school bus carrying them met with an accident in Haryana’s Mahendragarh district. Importantly, the school was open even as it was a holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr. The bus carrying students of GL Public School. The accident occurred near Unhani village of Kanina. All the injured children were rushed to a nearby hospital.
