Mahira Khan Calls Out Audience Misbehavior After Fan Throws Object on Stage: ‘No One Should…’

Mahira Khan, the much-loved Pakistani actor, is widely admired for her performances in TV series such as Zindagi Gulzar HaiHumsafar, and others. The actor is often seen attending various events. However, this time, when Mahira attended the Pakistan Literature Festival in Quetta, someone from the crowd threw an object at her while she was on stage. Describing the incident, Mahira took to her social media account and wrote a lengthy note.

Mahira posted a video from the event and shared a long note, stating, “What happened at the event was uncalled for. No one should think it’s okay to throw something on stage, even if it’s a flower wrapped up in a paper plane. It sets the wrong precedent. It is unacceptable. There are times I get scared, not just for myself, but for others who may be trapped in a mob-like situation.”

Khan revealed that while she and her team were traveling back, a member said that this was the last time they would attend the event at that particular place. However, Mahira disagreed completely, asserting that it wasn’t the solution. She noted the presence of a crowd of 10,000 or more, all showing their love and excitement in various ways. Observing their expressions, she remarked that they seemed unable to contain or articulate their enthusiasm. She emphasized that the culprit, whoever they might be, was just one among the multitude of 10,000.

In her note, Mahira added, “Perhaps I should have gotten up and left; maybe the crowd could have been screened, or maybe I shouldn’t have been put on the spot. There were lots of ‘could haves’ and ‘should haves.’ What I strongly feel,” she emphasized, “is that we need more events like these in more cities of Pakistan. The more exposure there is, the more awareness and education there will be. We need to normalize it and see what happens.”

The actor concluded the note, writing, “People, cities, our culture, our understanding of each other (which lacks), unity (which lacks even more) it will all flourish! I met the most amazing people. We sat together under the beautiful Quetta sky, ate delicious food.. while we shared stories, laughed and made plans for my next visit. I come back enriched. I love you Quetta. Thank you for the insane amount of love.”
