‘Let me live in peace’: Influencer Aryan Dev Neekhra requests police to drop case against him
New Delhi: In a video after he was booked by the Pune Cyber Cell for his satirical/parody videos on the Porsche accident case, controversial social media influencer Aryan Dev Neekhra has appealed to the Pune Cyber Cell to drop the case against him. He said that he lacks the funds to travel to Pune to appear before the authorities on May 27.
He said, “I am a middle-class person. What is the value of my life? Just kill me instead.”
“They have charged me with abusing people on the internet. Everyone does that. A warning would have been sufficient. I request the Pune Cyber Cell to drop the case. Let me and my family live in peace. I am just a content creator. There are monsters out there,” he wrote in the video’s caption.
In the video, he is seen saying, “I posted videos and the media made them viral, claiming I am the accused who killed two people. The defamation wasn’t enough; they booked me to divert attention from the real case. Why wouldn’t they? He is the son of a rich person, and I am a middle-class person. What is the value of my life? Just kill me instead.”
Influencer expresses concerns
He also said that he did not specifically abuse anyone in the viral rap, as it was a parody. He mentioned that he has to be in court on May 27, but he does not have a car or the money to get there on time, having only received the notice on May 25. He expressed fear of being jailed, labelled a criminal and projected as the main accused in the high-profile case. Neekhra ended the video by highlighting that the minor who killed two was released on bail, the driver was blackmailed, lab reports were manipulated and they want him in jail.
A rap song, supposedly featuring the juvenile boasting about escaping consequences for the Porsche crash, went viral on social media on Thursday. The Pune Police quickly clarified that it was a “fake account” and that the teenager had no involvement in the video. Later, it was found that the rap video was created by social media influencer Aryan Dev Neekhra.
