Federation Cup 2024 Live Streaming: When and where to watch Neeraj Chopra in action?

Olympic gold medallist athlete Neeraj Chopra will feature in the final of the men’s javelin throw event at the Federation Cup 2024 event at the Kalinga Stadium in Odisha on Wednesday, May 15.

Having already qualified for the Paris Olympics, Neeraj and Kishore are India’s top performers in the sport and, therefore, have been given direct entry into the final event.

The duo will be joined by DP Manu, the Asian Athletics Championships silver medallist, Shivpal Singh, the former Asian Athletics Championships silver medallist and five more namely, Pramod, Rohit Kumar, Uttam Patil, Kunwer Singh Rana and Manjinder Singh directly in the final.

Notably, Neeraj has not participated in a domestic tournament in India since the historic gold at the Tokyo Olympics. Wednesday will mark his return to the Federation Cup and the Indian domestic circuit for the first time since March 2021 when he won the gold at the same event.

Neeraj is coming into the Federation Cup on the back of a second-spot finish in the Doha Diamond League. He finished second by just centimetres behind Czech Republic’s Jakub Vadlejch.

The Czech athlete won the title with a throw measuring 88.38 m. Neeraj mentioned that his body didn’t feel “very good” during the event and that turned out to be decisive in the end.

“Overall I thought it could have been better but the best thing is the consistency. My warm-up throw was really good but the first throw went bad. More importantly, the body didn’t feel very good, I don’t know why, but I still managed an 88m-plus (88.36m) throw,” Neeraj mentioned after the event.
