FRIENDS’ Courteney Cox Says Matthew Perry Visits Her “A Lot” Even After His Death, Says ‘I Do Sense’

FRIENDS star Courteney Cox continues to feel the presence of her dear friend, actor Matthew Perry, who died nearly seven months ago. In a recent interview with CBS Sunday Morning’s Jonathan Vigliotti, Cox fondly remembered her late co-star and called him as “one of the funniest human beings in the world.” “He was just so funny,” she remarked. “He had an enormous heart. Obviously, he struggled, but I’m incredibly grateful for the many years we worked so closely together.”

Courteney Cox Still Feels The Presence of Matthew Perry:

Courteney Cox shared that Matthew Perry still feels present in her life, even though he’s no longer physically here. “He visits me often, if you believe in that,” she said, adding, “I talk to my mom, my dad, and Matthew. I feel like there are many people who guide us, and I definitely sense Matthew’s presence.”

Following Perry’s death last year from the acute effects of ketamine, Cox expressed her gratitude for every moment she shared with him in a heartfelt Instagram post. “When you work with someone as closely as I did with Matthew, there are thousands of moments I wish I could share,” she wrote. “For now, here’s one of my favourites.”

In the clip she posted on Instagram, Cox’s character Monica Geller and Perry’s Chandler Bing were in bed together when Ross Geller, played by David Schwimmer, walked in on them. “To give a little backstory, Chandler and Monica were supposed to have a one-night fling in London,” Cox explained. “But because of the audience’s reaction, it became the beginning of their love story. In this scene, before we started rolling, he whispered a funny line for me to say. He often did things like that. He was funny and he was kind.”

Cox also commemorated the 20th anniversary of the Friends series finale earlier this month with a heartfelt post, explaining that she didn’t “know how we were able to act through all the tears.” “Forever grateful,” she wrote.

Matthew Perry’s Stepfather Also Spoke About The Late Actor

In March, Matthew Perry’s stepfather Keith Morrison got in conversation with Hoda Kotb on her Making Space podcast about the loss. Morrison, who married Perry’s mom Suzanne in 1981, shared the enduring pain of grief. “As others have told me hundreds of times, it doesn’t go away. It’s with you every day, all the time, and there’s always some new aspect of it that assaults your brain,” he said, noting that it’s especially difficult for Perry’s mom.

“Toward the end of his life, they were closer than I’d seen them in decades,” Morrison said. “He was happy, and he said so, which he hadn’t for a long time. It’s a source of comfort, but also a reminder that he didn’t get to have his third act, and that’s not fair.”

Morrison described Perry as a “larger-than-life person” and said he still feels the “echo” of Perry’s “goofy” and “funny” personality everywhere.
