Heavy Rain Predicted in Odisha Until September 26, 2024, Yellow warning issued for 12 districts

The Meteorological Department has forecasted heavy rainfall across Odisha until September 26, 2024. Currently, two cyclonic circulations are active over the Bay of Bengal and surrounding regions, which are likely to develop into a low-pressure system over the northwest and adjoining central Bay of Bengal.

As a result of this low pressure, several areas of the state are expected to experience rainfall up to September 26. Additionally, a yellow warning has been issued for heavy rain in 12 districts of Odisha, including Puri and Khurdha, for today.

Similarly, other districts have also been placed under a yellow warning for heavy rainfall on September 25. Various locations across the state are likely to witness light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.

Districts like Malkangiri, Koraput, Puri, Khurda, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, and Kendrapara are under a yellow alert for heavy rain on September 22.

The precise path and impact of the low-pressure system will become clear once it forms later today.
