IAF helicopter makes emergency landing in Bhopal after technical glitch

An Army helicopter made an emergency landing in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal on Sunday after developing a technical glitch. The chopper made the landing near a dam in Dungariya village of Berasia. As many as six Army personnel were onboard the chopper.

There were no reports of any injury or fatality due to the incident. A team has been rushed to the location to assess and address any technical issues that may have prompted the landing.

“An Indian Air Force (IAF) ALH Dhruv helicopter made a precautionary landing near Bhopal today. As per the initial reports, the crew is safe and a team is on the way to look into the technical issues,” news agency ANI reported, citing IAF sources.

The incident comes a day after the Indian Air Force conducted an air show in Madhya Pradesh’s capital. IAF’s indigenous Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas, Su-30 MKI, and Mirage-2000 to name a few participated in the show titled ‘Air Power Beyond Boundaries, marking the 91st Anniversary of the IAF which falls on October 8.

The helicopters demonstrated spectacular flying skills above the picturesque upper lake Bhojtal in Bhopal. IAF aerobatics teams of fighter jets, helicopters and other aircraft of the central command showcased extraordinary skills at the programme.
