Kartik Aaryan’s Uncle and Aunty Die After Hoarding in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar Collapses Onto Their SUV; Actor Attends Funeral

Recently, a massive dust storm hit Mumbai, the economic capital of India. During the storm, a huge hoarding in Ghatkopar collapsed, claiming at least 16 lives. Among those identified were Air Traffic Control (ATC) General Manager Manoj Chansoria and his wife Anita, who were relatives of actor Kartik Aaryan. The actor, who is currently busy promoting his upcoming film ‘Chandu Champion,’ reportedly attended their funeral on May 16 at the Sahar crematorium.

According to a report by The Indian Express, at approximately 4:30 pm, powerful winds caused a 250-ton hoarding to collapse onto their red SUV at a petrol station. Their bodies were recovered nearly two days later. The precise time and date of the incident have not yet been confirmed. Reports indicate that the couple was in Mumbai to complete their visa paperwork for a visit to their son Yash, who resides in the United States.

On Monday, Yash lost contact with his parents. Later in the evening, he reached out to his father’s colleagues for updates. The report stated, “Their son had been trying to contact them since 5 p.m. on May 13. Unable to reach Manoj, and with Anita not answering her phone, he contacted his father’s colleagues for help.”

Upon learning of the incident, Yash immediately flew in from the US. The final rites were conducted at a crematorium in Sahar on Thursday. Reportedly, Kartik Aaryan also attended the funeral. Manoj Chansoria, a retired general manager from the Airports Authority of India, was a relative of Kartik Aaryan.

Regarding Kartik’s work, the actor will next be seen in Kabir Khan’s ‘Chandu Champion.’ The movie is set to hit the big screens on June 14, 2024. It is one of the most highly anticipated films of the year, and fans are eagerly looking forward to its release.
