Mumbai weather: Rain and thunderstorms likely today, hot weather predicted for next few days

Mumbai : The weather in Mumbai remained hot on Sunday, with the temperature expected to hover between 29 degrees Celsius to 35 degrees Celsius. While the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted rains or thundershowers by the evening, the weathermen also forecast hot and humid weather in the coming days.

Temperature today

According to IMD, the minimum temperature on Monday is expected to be 27 degrees celsius, which may decrease to 26 degrees the next day. The department further said that the temperature throughout the day may range from 26 to 27 degrees celsius in minimum and between 32 to 35 degrees Celsius in case of maximum temperature.

Jalgaon recorded the highest temperature in Maharashtra

Among other places in Maharashtra, Jalgaon district recorded the highest temperature in the state at 43 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius. Due to the increase in temperature in several parts of the state, the IMD issued yellow alerts in Mumbai, Palghar, Raigad, and Thane, and Yellow Alert Issued In Several Parts Of Maharashtra.

Apart from the above places, sixteen other districts in the state are also under yellow alerts for thunderstorms and gusty winds. These regions are expected to witness thundershowers and moderate rains in isolated places of Maharashtra for the next few days. The weathermen further said that temperatures in these areas may increase by 2 to 4 degrees celsius. They have also issued alerts for Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra from May 18 to May 22.

It may be noted that as per predictions by the IMD, Monsoon may enter Maharashtra in the month of June, which is normal in the state.
