Odisha CM Enjoys ‘Chai Pe Charcha’, Morning Walk In Keonjhar

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, currently on a three-day tour of the northern region of Odisha, took a moment to enjoy tea with old friends and honored a local tea stall owner during his visit. Just three months into his tenure as the Chief Minister, Majhi reminisced about his pre-election days with a glass of black tea at his favorite tea stall, following a morning walk at Keonjhar Stadium.

He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the tea stall owner, ‘Bideshi Babu’, who has served him tea for decades, praising his dedication over the last 60 years. Majhi said, “I have come here to have ‘desi’ tea from Bideshi Babu,” highlighting his fondness for the tea and the memories associated with the stall.

In a candid conversation with the media, Majhi credited his rise to the Chief Minister’s office to the blessings of Lord Jagannath and Keonjhar’s deities, Maa Tarini and Lord Baladev Jew. He fondly recalled frequent visits to the tea stall, where he would engage in constructive discussions about Keonjhar’s development with friends, including journalists, retired government employees, and other local residents. Despite a busy 100-day schedule managing state affairs and launching major initiatives, Majhi was delighted to reconnect with his roots.

Returning to his hometown after several months, Majhi shared how he longed for Bideshi Babu’s renowned ‘desi’ tea, which comes in various flavors, including milk tea, black tea, and herbal tea. His itinerary for the visit included catching up with his morning walk companions and reliving cherished memories with a hot cup of tea.

Majhi also reflected on his government’s first 100 days in office, highlighting the launch of the ‘Subhadra Yojana’. He emphasized his commitment to the development of Keonjhar, particularly with a focus on the effective use of the district’s rich mineral resources for inclusive growth.
