394 Teaching Staff Posts Vacant In Govt Engineering Colleges In Odisha: Minister

Bhubaneswar: As many as 394 teaching staff posts are lying vacant in government engineering colleges and universities in Odisha, said Skill Development & Technical Education Minister Pritiranjan Gharai in the Assembly on Tuesday. The sanctioned strength of teaching staff is 919. The minister was replying to a question by MLA Souvik Biswal.

In his written reply, Gharai mentioned that 525 teaching staff are currently posted in eight prominent government engineering colleges and universities. Similarly, 328 non-teaching staff posts are lying vacant in these institutions against sanctioned strength of 640, the minister said. He further said that only 27 principal posts have been filled up in 70 government ITIs in Odisha.
