Bande Bharat Train was inaugurated at B’Pur by Hon’ble Prime Minister

Berhampur 15/9 (Abhijit Kar): Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji today launched Tata Bande Bharat Express from Berhampur in Odisha’s silk city Berhampur. Hon’ble Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi was the chief guest in a Meeting held at Berhampur Railway Station on Sunday morning, Minister of Mines and Commerce and Transport Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, Minister of Fisheries and Livestock Gokulananda Mallick, Berhampur MP Dr. Pradeep Kumar Panigarahi, Asika MP Anita Shubhadarshini, Berhampur MLA K. Anil Kumar, Digaphandi MLA Sidhant Mahapatra, Chhatrapur MLA Krishna Chandra Nayak, Chikiti MLA Manoranjan Dayan Samantharai, Khallikot MLA Purna Chandra Sethi, Asika MLA Saroj Kumar Padhi were present in the guests of honour. On this occasion, the Hon’ble Chief Minister in his speech told the general public that due to the vision of Prime Minister Modi, the entire country has become at par with the leading developed countries of the world in the field of infrastructure. With this, a new wave of development has started in the country. Under Modi Ji’s leadership, 140 crore people of our country are marching towards the goal of a developed India. Brahmapur-Tata Bande Bharat Express will connect Odisha’s silk city Brahmapur with steel city Tata. The train will travel from Brahmapur to Tata in 9 hours 05 minutes and it will also stop at stations like Balugaon, Khurda, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jakhpura, Harichandanpur, Keonjhar etc. Hon’ble Chief Minister Mr. Majhi said that Bharat Train will connect various cities of our state with neighboring states in these 6 stations, it will help in the rapid development and progress of Odisha.

Similarly, Minister Mr. Jena said, “In the current financial year, the Central Government will build 8 new roads in our state like Gunapur-Therubali, Junagadh – Nabarangpur, Badampahad – Kendujhargarh, Bangiriposhi – Gorumhisani, Malkangiri – Pandurangapuram, Bamra – Chakulya, Bargar Road – Nuapada and Sarga – Valumunda. Approved for construction of railway track. About 20 thousand crore rupees will be invested for this, 10,586 crore rupees have been allocated in the central budget for railway development in Odisha in the financial year 2024-25. Again, under “Amrit Bharat Station”, a total of 52 railway stations will be modernized and expanded in our state, including Puri and the capital Bhubaneswar. The central government has planned a new railway project worth one lakh crore rupees for the development of railway infrastructure in Odisha. So far, more than 70 thousand crore rupees railway projects have been approved for Odisha. These projects will play an important role in increasing the efficiency of the railway network in the state, he said.

Similarly, MP Mr. Panigarahi said, “Brahmpur is a prosperous city which is famous for its silk sarees, which is called Brahmapuri Pato, hence Brahmapur is known as “silk city”. Besides, Brahmapur is also a famous commercial center of our state, due to Bande Bharat Express, the city will witness rapid growth in tourism and trade. Currently Bharat Express is running in three stations between Puri-Howrah, Puri – Rourkela and Bhubaneswar – Vishakhapatnam in our state, now Bharat Express will run in three more stations between Brahmapur -Tata, Rourkela – Howrah and Raipur – Visakhapatna. These three stations will be the lifeline of India Express South and West Odisha. Communication will be developed especially in our tribal areas and they can also contribute to our economic growth.

On the other side Berhampur MLA Shri Anil expressed his opinion that the Modi government has never lacked funds for the material development of Odisha. These projects being launched for the nation at the cost of billions of rupees are a symbol of the love and commitment of the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji to our people of Odisha. A new government has come in the state with the wishes and blessings of the common people of Odisha. Before our government completes 100 days, such public welfare activities will continue to augur well for the state. The government of double engine has already come in the state, the pace of development is taking forward with double engine at a higher speed. Other guests present on the occasion also praised such efforts of both the governments in their respective speeches. After the meeting, the Hon’ble Prime Minister inaugurated Bharat Express in the 4th platform of Berhampur railway station.

However, there was a rare event in such a grand Inaugurated ceremony program organized in Brahampur, however, the first citizen of Brahampur, Mayor of Brahampur Municipal Corporation Mrs. Sanghmitra Dalai, Deputy Mayor E. Vivek Reddy and other corporators were not seen in this program. It has been informed that the Honorable Mayor or Deputy Mayor has not been invited for this event. Many intellectuals and dignitaries have condemned the fact that the mayor of Brahampur and a public representative were uninvited in this program organized by both the central and state governments. However, there was no response from the mayor or Dy. Mayor.
